Going to Whittier and the only ground access is this road that goes through the Anton Anderson Tunnel. The tunnel is 2.5 miles long, 1-lane with cars and trains both using it. Traffic is 15-minute alternating directional use for vehicle traffic every half hour. Whittier, Alaska ~June 5, 2006
